I’ve been talking about Gary Farrell here a lot lately, right? That’s because I really love their wines, and I was blessed with a wonderful opportunity to participate in a blogger event coordinated by Emily Martin, who invited some of my favorite bloggers for a sensational Sunday in Healdsburg. We started our day at Gary Farrell’s renovated Salon Tasting Room, located at 10701 Westside Rd, Healdsburg, CA 95448, for an elevated wine tasting in the heart of the Russian River Valley. The Salon is absolutely gorgeous as you’ll see below!
We experienced the INSPIRATION TASTING (click to book the best experience and let them know that Isabel Freeman from Napavalleytip sent you there) that is for people who are passionate Pinot Noir lovers like I am. This focused Pinot Noir experience is hosted by an Estate Sommelier at a private table to taste through a flight of six extravagant Pinot Noirs sourced from the neighborhoods of the Russian River Valley and beyond (you probably already know the best Pinot Noir & Chardonnay wines are grown in the Sonoma region, including Russian River Valley, right?).
We had an immersive discussion with our hosts Tiffany and Kevin, who explained details about the soils and vineyards that create the unique terroir found throughout these regions and the wines that draw their sense of place from California’s well-known Pinot Noir vineyards.
I was very impressed by the selection of local artisan cheeses that paired beautifully with their wines. The winemaker Theresa Heredia is an expert in the finest wines produced in the Russian River Valley. Congratulations to this female winemaker who does an exquisite job of winemaking!!
You can tell I always have the best time wine tasting. I’m passionate about discovering all the gems around Napa & Sonoma wine country.
