Am I the only one who gets very excited about food markets? I’m excited to share this post because Oxbow Market is an incredible place to have a cup of coffee, eat fabulous food, drink wine or beer, enjoy Happy Hour after a hard day at work, or spend an afternoon or evening during your vacation if you’re visiting the Legendary Napa Valley!! Lots of great options!!
About Oxbow Market
Oxbow Public Market is located in the Oxbow District in the City of Napa, and has become the local gathering place for great food and wine in downtown. It is a super cute and charming Marketplace, which includes a scenic outdoor deck with seating along the Napa River and features diverse local food vendors, artisan cafes, and an organic produce outlet for local farms. Oxbow Public Market supports the concept of sustainable agriculture and local harvest (promoting a healthy environment), as well as social and economic equity within the Napa community.
Their goal with this Market is to improve the local food culture and support local business, which is fantastic and I highly recommend a visit! I promise you will not regret it!!
The Market is located at 610 and 644 First Street in Napa, which is a perfect location close to the Napa River and Napa River Trail, adjacent to the Oxbow Preserve and Oxbow Commons. The Market is open seven days a week, and only closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
I will post some of my favorites spots and what to expect at Oxbow Market bellow:
Looking for organic fruits, vegetables, and juice? Hudson Greens & Goods is the best option at Oxbow. I particularly love their Detox Green Smoothie at the juice bar…. You will probably need a healthy smoothie for breakfast after a day of wine tasting in Napa Valley, right?!
Where to eat?? That is the most important question!! So, they have several restaurants that you can grab and go to sit outside on the deck, or if you prefer you can sit inside where it is cool! I will suggest a few options in this post. First tip is the Hog Island Oyster Bar, which is a great spot to order a glass of sparkling wine (I love bubbles) and oysters for Happy Hour, and you can choose to sit in the outdoor deck area or inside at their bar!!
Another Seafood option is Eiko’s at Oxbow. I am a Japanese food lover myself, so I can be easily convinced anytime to have some sushi!!
I don’t want to overwhelm you with too many delicious options, but I must recommend C Casa for the best and freshest tacos in town! If you prefer pizza, I recommend Live Fire Pizza for a great time!!
For dessert you will happily find the tasty Three Twins Ice Cream, incredibly delicious chocolates from Annette’s Chocolates, and the best cupcakes ever from Kara’s Cupcakes!!
Napa is not just about wine…we have awesome places for beer too! Fieldwork Brewing Company is right here waiting for you. Fieldwork offers a unique tasting experience with their rotating selection of local craft beers!!
Ah, one more important tip….please don’t forget to shop around a bit at The Olive Press Olive Oils and also try some of the best spices from around the world at Whole Spice!!
